    Returning Midfielder Ready for Action

    Michael Essien who made his competitive start for the first time in current year has stated that he will be back stronger and will be ready for the start of the season 2010/11. Essien made his first appearence of the year in the friendly against Crystal Palace where his sole goal managed his side to outcome the hosts.

    Essien had been injured for most part of the last season because of the knee ligament injury which he suffered while he was out for international duty with his Ghana side in ACN. because of this injury he missed the F.A. Cup win over Portsmouth as well as failed to play for hi national side in the World Cup in South Africa.

    Michael Essien joined the Blues in 2005 in a move away from Olympique Lyon, and since then he has been a key player at Stamford Bridge.

    Essien has scored 16 goals for Chelsea in his 116 premier league appearances.
