Patrick Van Aanholt spent last season on loan at Coventry City and Newcastle. He made 20 and 7 appearances for each club, respectively. It was even believed that after Newcastle's promotion they were interested in signing the Dutch youngster back on loan. The Newcastle fans hold him in high regard for the way he covered for Left-Back Jonas Gutierrez while the Argentinian was injured. He made to sub appearances last season coming on for Zhirkov against Portsmouth and Aston Villa.

This boy already has one England cap and is known to be a very talented player. However, recently it came into the light that Chelsea were interested in oflloading him to Wolves in a 4 million pound deal. However, Michael Mancinne had signed a lucrative 4-year deal with Chelsea before leaving for Wolves last season. He made 30 appearances for the club and was vital in keeping them in the top flight.

Ryan Betrand, rated as the next Ashley Cole, is a flying full-back just like Cole. Last season he spent on loan at Reading collecting 44 appearances for the club who had a topsy turvy season. He has played at the Championship level regularly for 2 full seasons now. Many see him as the cover for Ashley Cole and Yuri Zhirkov. His performances for Reading caught a lot of attentino. At the age of 20 he is England U-21's first choice Left-Back and a highly sought after player. He strongly believes himself that he is ready to fight for his place in the Chelsea First team.

I for one am excited to see these 3 take the field together along side an experienced Alex. It could give them the confidence boost each of them need to compete for their spot on the team sheet. Let's hope that youth FA Cup win meant something more.
