Real Madrid planning raid for Ricardo Carvalho

Jose Mourinho, who brought the Portugese to Chelsea, reportedly wants to bring him to Spain.

June 25, 2010 - Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa - epa02222574 Portugal's Ricardo Carvalho heads for the ball during the FIFA World Cup 2010 group G match between Portugal and Brazil at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa, 25 June 2010.
He has made over 200 appearances for the club. He has had an outstanding career at Chelsea until the past 2 seasons where injury kept him from doing his best.

Furthermore, recently Carvalho has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge. It seems that Brazilian Alex will partner John Terry this season as Chelsea defend their League and FA Cup titles. It is believed that Jose Mourinho wants to bring in an experienced Centre-Back to the club to help his newly recruited younger stars to perform better.

Chelsea seem keen to release the defender should a deal of 5 million be put on the table. However, it seems that if Carvalho were to leave the club it would be Inter Milan who have reportedly already have had a bid accepted for the defender.

Bruno Alves of Porto, now Portugal captain, seems to be touted as the replacement for the outgoing Centre-Back.
