The reports emerging out of English media toady suggest that Chelsea have managed to beat off domestic and European rivals to the signature of Burkina Faso's 15 year old wonder kid Bertrand Traore. The likes of Manchester Unites, Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Milan were all interested and were tracking the player but Chelsea were the ones to move first and grab the player.

Traore was outstanding for Burkina Faso at the U17 World Cup, where his coach Rainer Willfeld said: "He could become a very great player because he can do everything with the ball, he has a good eye, he can play good passes, he has control, he has everything.

“What he is lacking is physical ability to compete with bigger players in a one-on-one situation.

“He can reach any level if he comes into good coaching, people who will look after him correctly and not make him a big player before he is a big player, then I think he can play at any level within five years.”

Burkina Faso’s sports minister Jean-Pierre Palm, proudly announced Chelsea’s capture of the country’s brightest young talent yesterday. He said it was honor for African Football that the talented players are getting the recognition they deserve and are making moves to prestigious clubs in Europe like Chelsea.

Traore was said to be in Ghana earlier this week to secure his visa ahead of flying to London.
He is scheduled to arrive in London before end of the week and undergo medical and complete remaining formalities before he could be officially announced as a Chelsea Player.
