Understanding New Premier League Rule

Who Will Be There In Last 25 Squad ??

As soon as transfer period ends on September 1 at 5 PM, all the club managers of the premier league will have to submit the squad of 25 men to concerned authority.

    Rules -

From this season onward every club in the premier league can name squad of maximum of 25 players. Out of which 8 players must be home grown. Club can use any number of players below the age of 21 without registering them in final 25 list.

What Does Home - Grown Mean???

Lot of fans seems to be having problem regarding understanding this thing. The player who has trained in England or Wales for 3 years for the period ranging from 15 to 21, then he will be considered as home grown player. The nationality of the player will not matter if he has satisfied the criteria.
Lets understand this with a example - suppose Jack from Italy joined the Academy at the age of 16 and trained for 3 years then he will be considered as a home grown player despite he being an Italian Citizen.

Another important aspect of this rule is that manager can play any number of players who are below the age of 21. That means despite registering the squad of 25, one can see lot of youngsters getting the chance to play. This rule be very important when player from the list of 25 gets injured.

Good thing is that managers will be able to make alterations in the squad in January transfer window and will have to submit again the list of 25 players on 1st February 5 PM. This will enable the manager to get rid of unwanted players as well as recruit new ones.

Let us know, who according to you, who will make into last 25 of Chelsea list????
