So Chelsea kept their winning run going albeit a nervous encounter against West Ham. It wasn’t a walk in the park for our Blue Brigade, yet the efficiency and consistency, which has been the core of Chelsea’s success over the years saw us through this tricky London Derby collecting all three points.

On the other side, Manchester United traveled to Merseyside and got disappointed yet again just like last year when Rodwell scored the winner for the Merseysiders to win it
3-1.This time the match ended 3-3 with Everton scoring 2 goals in 2 minutes of injury time to get a deserved point.

The tie was eagerly awaited, thanks to the Ex- Everton boy Rooney’s heroics featuring in front pages of newspapers for last few days. Rooney getting abuse at Everton is not a new thing as the player has got plenty of stick and abuse to deal with since his acrimonious move to Manchester united.

But this time Rooney was expected to get abuse from another level with Everton fans having prepared sarcastic songs to wind him up. The situation became so tense that Sir Alex thought it was good for Rooney and his team if he didn’t featured for them at weekend at all.

And as the United players entered the ground for pre-match run in, the player the Everton fans were more eager to see had gone in the hiding. That’s right!!! Rooney didn’t even travel with the squad for the match. Instead stayed alone at his now empty home, hiding away from the entire spotlight he has been getting over the last few days. I really laughed my ass out, when the team news was declared stating Rooney has stayed back at his empty home in Manchester.

Now this reminds me of similar situation our own Captain marvelous John terry faced last season when his story about affair with Vanessa Peroncell broke out and all the abuse he had to deal with wherever he traveled with the squad.

Now I am not trying to defend Terry here, because what he too did was wrong and completely un- tolerable. But, he didn’t ran away from the situation he found himself in. Instead he stood firm and lead his team courageously wearing the Captain’s armband and marched his team to the Premier League and FA Cup DOUBLE, for the first time in Chelsea’s history.

I still remember the away game to Burnley at Turf Moor where he was making his first appearance after the controversy had broke out. And what happened? Chelsea won 2-1 after Fletcher had equalized for the home side. And who scored the Winner? YES IT WAS JOHN TERRY!!!

This tells you whose is the man, with guts, courage, natural leadership and strong mentality. On one side we have JT scoring a fantastic winner to give his beloved club all the three points and on the other we have this SHAMELESS COWARD from Manchester hiding away from media and the world for his shameless acts.

And irony is that, just before the World cup there were plenty of noises urging Capello to give Rooney the Captain’s armband after Capello had stripped off Terry from captaincy. So funny isn’t it? A coward man with ZERO guts was urged to be given captaincy of England.

If Capello stays past 2012, which I hardly believe, he should make Rooney captain at his own peril.
