Do you like this story?
Dawn of The New Era
Its not the everyday thing that you will read in the news that Chelsea lost at home, such has been the dominant display by the club in last 6-7 years. We have lost just handful of time in this period and its been a pride of all the Chelsea fans. but last day was exception to that. We lost at home but is our pride hurt? I don't think so. Rather I would say the real fans would have been full of pride despite seeing the team going out of the competition.
We fielded Bruma, Kakuta, Aamholt form acadmy and another youngster Sturridge and Turnbull took the post. All the eyes were on these players as everyone wanted to know how they perform at senior level. and to be frank they didn't disappoint us. I am not saying all of them had a game like a pro and they outperformed the opponents but when you want to see youngsters performing then at the same time one should also keep in mind that they will make some mistakes as they are still raw talents.
Aanholt grabbed the first ever goal under his belt at senior level as Chelsea had started the game with high tempo. We kept dominating the game until Ranger grabbed the equalizer for the visitors and then they took full control of the game. Another goal on the free kick saw us trailing at The Bridge first time this season.
In the second half Alex and Kalou took the field in place of JT ans Kakuta respectively. but soon Newcastle netted their third of the game and took the game out of Chelsea hand. Well it looked like that at the moment. and just after few minutes, Kalou injured and was eventually substituted. Chelsea had used all its available substitutions. and the injury crisis was not going to end there. after few minutes Benayoun was injured too and had to leave the field. but as there were no substitutions available anymore, Chelsea had to play with 10 players for majority of the half and also were down by 1-3.
It looked like all over but then McEachran stepped up and reorganized all the midfield and took the control of all Chelsea game in his own hands. Not to mention that the lad is just 17 and was making just his 2nd appearance in senior team. but oh boy, did he ever looked like he is a rookie player who is not having any considerable experience at the top level? and answer is no. The way he managed the team and played and passes was so good and hard to explain in words, you had to watch the match for that.
Also Anelka and Alex led the team by example and we scored two goals and made equalised when there were only 3 minutes left on the clock. but to our bad luck Ameobi strucked again on the very last minute of the regular time. and that was the shock for all Chelsea players and fans. and after the end of 6 minutes of injury time it was made clear that Chelsea have lost at home for the first time this season.
Talking about the result we all will agree that it was disappointing for the fans but boy o' boy what we see from the youngsters of the club it convinced us that in years to come club will be in safe hands of theirs especially the performance of McEachran was remarkable alongwith good performance by Aanholt.
Terry - Alex 45'
Kakuta - Kalou 45'
Kalou - McEachran 56'
